MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A downstate woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries when her vehicle rolled over on County Road 550 this week. 

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Tuesday around 7:35 a.m. near Eagles Nest Road. Kaylee Brace, 19, of Saint Helen was southbound when she reached for an item in the passenger side of the vehicle. She accidentally turned the steering wheel to the right, which made the vehicle enter the ditch and roll over.

Brace was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Ishpeming teen received minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Marquette Township Wednesday. 

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at 8:35 a.m. on US-41 near Brickyard Road. Lillee Martin, 18, was eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the slushy roadway. It went into the snow-filled ditch on the south side of the highway and rolled over onto its roof.

Martin sought her own treatment.

She was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Only minor injuries are reported in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Negaunee Township. 

Sunday around 2:20 p.m. troopers from the Negaunee Post were sent to M-35 about a half-mile south of US-41.  Michael Williams, 52, of Negaunee was northbound in a Jeep Wrangler when he lost control. The jeep slid off the roadway, went into the ditch, and overturned.

Williams was alone in the Jeep and was wearing a seat belt. He sought his own treatment for minor injuries. 

SANDS TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Gwinn man was ticketed after a single-vehicle rollover accident in Sands Township. 

It happened Monday around 1:30 p.m. on M-553. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says Bruce Thompson was northbound when he tried to pass another vehicle in the passing lanes near Flodin Road. He lost control and the vehicle left the roadway. It rolled over twice before coming to rest in the upright position.

Thompson refused medical treatment at the scene.

He was cited for driving too fast for conditions and no proof of insurance.

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man was arrested Wednesday, following a rollover accident in the city.

Police were dispatched around 12:50 a.m. to the area of Presque Isle Avenue and West Magnetic Street. They say the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene but was later located by Marquette Police.

Austin Hartman, 19, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, no insurance, unregistered vehicle, and failure to report an accident.

NEGAUNEE, MI--   Two people were injured when a pickup truck rolled over in Negaunee Monday morning.

Around 12:29 officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of North Baldwin Avenue. A Toyota Tundra driven by Aaron LaJoie was northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck left the right side of the roadway and rolled over into the ditch.

LaJoie and a passenger were taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment. A third passenger was not injured.

POWELL TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette man has been arrested in connection with a single-vehicle rollover accident in Powell Township.

State Police from the Negaunee Post say Monday around 10:30 p.m. troopers responded to the accident in the area of Dam Road and Lighthouse Road. They found a Dodge Ram pickup truck rolled onto its roof with extensive damage. The vehicle was left unoccupied at the scene of the crash.

Investigation led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Marquette man for operating while intoxicated, failure to report a personal injury accident, and careless driving.

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Negaunee man has suffered injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Marquette.

City Police were called Monday around 2 p.m. to US-41 South near Nicolet Boulevard. Officers say the 71-year-old was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. It left the road, struck the embankment, rolled several times, and came to rest on its roof.

The driver was extricated from his vehicle by the Marquette Fire Department and taken to UPHS Marquette for treatment.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. 

IRON COUNTY, MI--   Two people were involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Iron County 

Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies were called around 9:20 a.m. to County Road 424 near Alpha.  They say a pickup with two occupants was eastbound when it hit a patch of black ice, left the roadway, and rolled over.

The driver and passenger were taken to Aspirus Hospital in Iron River with minor injuries. 

The Alpha Mastodon and Crystal Falls fire departments assisted at the scene.  

HANCOCK TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Hancock Township man has been injured in a single-vehicle accident in 

Houghton County.

Sheriff’s officials say the crash happened around 4:35 Thursday morning on M-203 about 500 yards north of Highpoint Road. 

Michael Hocking, 51, was northbound on 203 when the vehicle crossed the southbound lane, went down an embankment and struck a tree.  Hocking was ejected from the vehicle.  His condition is unknown at this time.

Deputies say alcohol was a factor in the accident.  Hocking wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
