MUNISING, MI--   More details have emerged surrounding the reappearance of a hiker declared missing at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Kara Moore, 55, had been hiking with family members last Friday in the Beaver Creek Wilderness Area. When the group got to the trailhead parking lot they noticed Moore was missing. Officials launched a land and water search that lasted five days.

Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. hikers on the Beaver Lake Trail saw a woman matching Moore’s description walking toward them. They gave her food and water and contacted park authorities.

MUNISING, MI--   A hiker reported missing from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has been found alive.

Kara Moore, 55, was last seen hiking last Friday evening. Various agencies have been searching for her since then.

Park officials say Moore walked into the Little Beaver Campground around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. No further details are available at this time.

MUNISING, MI--    Police are searching for a woman at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Kara Moore, 57, was last seen Friday around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Beaver Creek Campground. She was wearing black pants, a purple sweatshirt, a turquoise jacket, and tennis shoes. She was also wearing wire-rimmed glasses and was carrying a multi-colored backpack.

Moore is 5’4” and has gray hair.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
