Zintman sentenced for murder

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Forsyth Township man found guilty of killing his girlfriend by arson has been sentenced.  

On Tuesday Steven Zintman, 46, was given life in prison without the possibility of parole for murder and first-degree arson. 

The May, 2014 fire on Valkyrie Street in Sawyer killed Zintman’s girlfriend, Sally Plume.  Zintman and his son were able to get out of the home in time. 

Zintman intends to file an appeal.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
