UPSET finds drugs in Atlantic Mine

ATLANTIC MINE, MI--   Drug suspects are lodged in the Houghton County Jail after UPSET executed a search warrant at two residences in Atlantic Mine. 

On Monday detectives searched two adjacent homes and seized unknown quantities of heroin and crystal meth.  Two people were arrested for possession of crystal meth and possession of heroin.  Their names are being withheld, pending arraignment.

The investigation remains ongoing.

UPSET was assisted by the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan Tech Public Safety, troopers from the Calumet Post, and a K-9 unit from the Gladstone Post.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
