Upper Peninsula community gets special postage cancellation

ROCK, MI (AP)--   A Delta County community has a special postage cancelation mark for its 150th

anniversary.

The Daily Press reports people will be able to have stamps canceled using the special design at the community of Rock's Labor Day celebration Saturday. Rock Postmaster Linda Hamill had applied with the U.S. Postal Service to get the special cancelation mark.

According to Hamill, the mark has a design of the Upper Peninsula with Rock's location marked by a star. The mark also includes "Rock 150."

Hamill says stamps, stamped envelopes and stamped postcards will also be available outside the Lions Club on Saturday. The special cancelation will also be available at the Rock post office for 30 days after Saturday.
