UPPCO deals with power outages

MARQUETTE, MI--   Approximately 6,000 UPPCO customers were without power in Marquette, Alger, Delta, Houghton and Keweenaw counties Tuesday morning due to adverse weather conditions.

Hardest hit areas include Gwinn, Au Train and Calumet as well as Hancock and K.I. Sawyer.

UPPCO crews and employees in various company offices are currently working to address outages as they occur, and has made arrangements to use contracted resources to expedite restoration efforts wherever possible.

UPPCO advises people to stay away from downed power lines. Always assume a downed line is energized.
