Two arrested for furnishing alcohol in Ishpeming house fall case

ISHPEMING, MI--   The Ishpeming Police Department has arrested two men in connection with a teenaged girl’s fall out of a second-story window May 20.

The 15-year-old fell from an unoccupied house at 111 West North Street and sustained serious facial injuries.

Police say during the course of the investigation several interviews were conducted. Officers determined a group of underage individuals had attended a party at 917 North Main Street before the incident occurred.

Alcohol was allegedly furnished at the party by Jed Talbacka, 19, and Ryan Denofre, 18—both of Ishpeming. They were both arrested on four counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of children—all misdemeanors.

Both posted a $400 bond.

Ishpeming Police say they’re still waiting for test results and sample analysis from the Michigan State Police Forensic Lab in relation to the incident.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
