(Associated Press)- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says applications for fall turkey hunting licenses will be on sale through August 1.
Eight wild turkey management units are open to fall turkey hunting during the September 15 to November 14 season.
They include most of the southern Lower Peninsula, Beaver Island and the entire Upper Peninsula. Hunters may apply for a turkey hunting license at an authorized license agent, at DNR operations service centers or online.
The application fee is $4.
Drawing results will be posted online beginning August 15.
A total of 50-thousand-and-50 licenses are available. That includes 3-thousand-350 general licenses that can be used on public or private land and 46-thousand-700 licenses for private land only.
