MARQUETTE, MI--   A former NMU professor has entered a plea in an assault case.

Suggitt has pleaded no contest to one count each of kidnapping, torture, and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration. A jury trial scheduled for this week has been canceled.

Suggitt will be sentenced July 25 in Marquette Circuit Court.
