Pride Week being held at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, MI--   Michigan Technological University is hosting its annual Pride Week starting Monday in Houghton. 

Events begin with “Pledge to be an Ally” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Husky statue, followed by a TED Talk relating to LGBTQAI culture at Canterbury House at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A film on Drag Queen and King culture, “Paris is Burning”, will be shown Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Fisher Hall, and Thursday’s event, “Drag Queen GO”, is based on the game “Pokemon GO”. 

Friday features gourmet “Identity Cupcakes” and a talk about lesser-known LGBT identities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. 

The highlight of Pride Week is the 17th Annual Drag Show Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Rozsa Center, and Sunday at 11 a.m. “Brunch with the Queens” will be held at Canterbury House.
