Prescription drug prices the topic of Senator Stabenow visit

ISHPEMING, MI--   U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow will be in Ishpeming Tuesday to talk about prescription drugs. 

The Democrat will hold a press conference at the Ishpeming Senior Center to announce legislation to lower the cost of commonly purchased drugs.

Stabenow says Americans pay the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs. AARP says prices for the most popular brand-name drugs have risen 208 percent from 2008 to 2016.

The press conference begins at 10:45 a.m. at 320 South Pine Street in Ishpeming.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
