GLADSTONE, MI-- A portion of bike trail in the Hiawatha National Forest has been closed until further notice.
Active logging in the area has shut down a segment of the Valley Spur Mountain Bike Trail. Officials say loggers are removing American Beech trees killed by Beech Bark Disease. They say removal of the trees will make the trail safer for mountain bikers.
All riders are asked to stay off that portion of the trail until it reopens.
