Ontonagon County Sheriff investigates two motorcycle accidents on the same road

ONTONAGON COUNTY, MI--   Two motorcycle crashes happened within minutes of each other in Ontonagon County Monday. 

The Sheriff’s Office says the first happened around 6:10 p.m. Thomas Weks of Oak Grove, Louisiana was traveling on South Boundary Road when he lost control of his bike on a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, hit the gravel shoulder, and fell to the ground.

Weks was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for treatment.

The second accident happened about eight minutes later, also on South Boundary Road.

Deputies say Michael Cox of Oak Grove, Louisiana lost control of his bike on a portion of wet pavement. The motorcycle left the roadway and rolled into a gully.

Cox was not injured. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
