Norway man still critical after crash with train

STEPHENSON, MI--   Officials have released the name of a man injured in a truck/train crash in Menominee County earlier this week.  

Dana LaPlante, 54, of Norway was driving a Coca-Cola delivery truck on River Road in Stephenson Tuesday afternoon.  He tried to brake at a railroad crossing, but the truck slid on the slippery road and hit a train. 

Laplante was ejected from his vehicle.  He was taken to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, where he remains in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
