New grant available for Downtown Marquette buildings

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Downtown Development Authority has introduced a new Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program.

Businesses and property owners within the downtown district can apply annually for money to upgrade building exteriors. The program offers a 1:2 match, with a maximum reimbursement of $5,000 and a minimum total project cost of $3,000.

To qualify, projects must constitute permanent, physical improvements to a building's exterior, meet all building and zoning requirements, fit into the larger context of neighboring buildings, and receive approval by the DDA Board of Directors.

Grants will be awarded on a competitive, first-come, first served basis. For more information call 228-9475 or go to downtownmarquette.org.
