Moose poached in Baraga County

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Michigan DNR is investigating the illegal killing of a moose last month in Baraga County.

The bull moose carcass was found December 13.  Officers believe the animal was killed in late November along Heart Lake Road near Petticoat Lake Road in the Three Lakes area.  They say logging is occurring in the region and road hunting violations have been reported in the area.

A cash reward is being offered for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.  Anyone with information is asked to call the DNR’s Report All Poaching hotline at 800-292-7800.
