Minor injuries reported in two-vehicle Marquette accident

MARQUETTE, MI--   One person has been injured in a two-vehicle accident on McClellan Avenue in Marquette.  

City Police say Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Gwinn man was southbound and passing through the intersection at the bypass on a green light.  He was struck by a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Manistique man that was eastbound on US-41.

The Gwinn driver was taken to Marquette General Hospital with minor injuries.  The Manistique driver was cited for failing to stop at a red light.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
