PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team is investigating a meth lab in Mackinac County’s Portage Township.

On Wednesday troopers from the Sault Ste. Marie Post stopped a vehicle in Luce County and found suspected meth components in the vehicle.  UPSET detectives identified the driver as a suspected meth cooker they’re investigating.

Detectives conducted a search of the driver’s house near St. Ignace and discovered additional meth components and hazardous waste.  The waste was removed to a secure storage site.
