Marquette Halloween Spectacle approaching

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is setting plans in motion for the 2017 Halloween Spectacle.

Called an alchemy of pageantry, music, theater, and dance, this year’s theme is The Four Elements. Harlow Park is providing the backdrop for the October 28 spectacle, which will start with a procession down the 100 block of West Washington Street at 6 p.m.

Funding for the event was secured through a $4,000 grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, $2,500 from the DDA, and $5,000 from the City of Marquette.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer or perform can contact the Arts and Culture Center at 228-0472.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
