Marquette and Alger Counties partnering to create Technical Middle College

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette-Alger RESA, local school districts, and Northern Michigan University are collaborating to offer a high school into college program for students interested in Career Technical

Education.  Called the Technical Middle College, the program would encourage hands-on learning, mentoring, and public-private partnerships to help students get a free education.

Brian Sarvello is the Career and Technical Education Director at MARESA and Director of the Middle College.  He explains the program to Public Radio 90 News Director Nicole Walton.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
