IRON TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Negaunee man declared missing in Gogebic County Sunday night has been found dead.

WLUC-TV reports the 32-year-old was taking photos with a friend when he may have slipped and fallen into the Black River near Sandstone Falls in Ironwood Township.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department, Coast Guard Search and Rescue and other agencies initiated ground and air searches and found the man’s body around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Deputies say terrain made recovery of the body from the water difficult.  The victim was recovered around 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
