Man hospitalized after vehicle gets stuck in Forsyth Township

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP--   A man whose truck got stuck on a Forsyth Township road was found in serious condition over the weekend.

Sunday around 8 a.m. officers were called to Martin Lake Road, which isn’t plowed this time of year.

Investigation revealed the truck became stuck sometime during the night. That morning a friend discovered the man’s vehicle, followed footprints through snow in the woods, found him, and called 911.

Forsyth Police tried to walk the victim out but determined they couldn’t. A member of the Forsyth Fire Department used his own snowmobile to get to the scene and an EMT secured a sled to bring the victim out. He was flown by Valley Med Flight to UPHS-Marquette for treatment.

Police don’t know how long the victim was in the woods overnight.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
