Man from Hannahville Reservation sentenced for molesting child

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Menominee County man has been sentenced for sexually abusing a child. 

Patrick Wandahsega, 40, of Wilson was charged in federal court with abusive sexual conduct involving young children and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He was accused of molesting a 6-year-old at his home on the Hannahville Indian Reservation in 2015.

Wandahsega was found guilty of the abusive sexual conduct charge following a four-day trial last October. He was sentenced in Marquette Federal Court Tuesday to 24 years in prison.   

 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
