Man arrested for misdemeanor admits to making meth

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   Forsyth Township Police arresting a suspect on a misdemeanor warrant also discovered meth components at his residence. 

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team says the 36-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday at a home on East County Road 456. During the arrest UPSET detectives observed components associated with meth. A search warrant uncovered numerous chemicals used to make the drug.

The suspect allegedly admitted to making meth.

The suspect was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on the unrelated warrant. Officials expect additional charges for manufacturing meth.

No names are being released at this time.

The incident remains under investigation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
