Magazine ranks MTU in top 15 percent of nation's universities

HOUGHTON, MI--    A weekly magazine on higher education ranks Michigan Tech in the top 15 percent of schools and universities in the country. 

The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education 2018 College Rankings placed Tech at #155 of 1,054 institutions this week. Tech ranked 33 of 275 Midwestern colleges and universities.

Times Higher Education is published in the United Kingdom. It collaborates with the Wall Street Journal on its world university rankings. Factors evaluated include resources, engagement, outcomes, and environment.

Michigan Tech ranked highest on outcomes, such as graduation rate, graduates’ salaries, loan default rate, and academic reputation. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
