It's decades in prison for Bernard Fish

BARAGA, MI--   A Wisconsin man found guilty of armed robbery in Baraga County last year has been sentenced.

Bernard Fish, 47, of Shawano was given a minimum of 20 and a maximum of

40 years in prison with credit for 360 days already served Thursday.  He was found guilty by a jury on two counts of armed robbery, two counts of extortion, one count of impersonating a police officer, and two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

The judge also heard from two officers from the Baraga County Jail.  They said Fish fashioned a metal shiv while he was incarcerated.  That persuaded the judge to sentence fish above the minimum requirements.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
