Houghton Jail escapee to face additional charges

HOUGHTON, MI--   There’s no word yet on new charges for a Houghton County Jail inmate who escaped and was later recaptured.

Mark Revoir, 35, was on a minimum security work crew cleaning the Houghton RV park Friday around 9:40 a.m. when he walked away.  He was serving time for retail fraud.

Around 11:30 a.m. Revoir was seen in South Range.  A resident later called 911 saying he was spotted in the Painesdale area.

Sheriff’s deputies responded and arrested Revoir without incident.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
