Gwinn woman arrested for uttering and publishing

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Gwinn woman has been arrested for forging checks from her employer.

Marquette City Police says Chrystal Thomas, 32, was arrested December 30 on three felony counts of uttering and publishing.  The warrants stem from a fraud investigation at paving company Vultaggio Services in Marquette. Thomas allegedly forged business checks for her personal gain.

Thomas posted bond and was released from the Marquette County Jail.

Uttering and publishing is punishable by up to 14 years in prison.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
