DEARBORN, MI (AP)-- AAA Michigan says gasoline prices have held steady from last week for a statewide average of about $3 per gallon.
The auto club said Sunday that's about 28 cents less than this time last year. The statewide average for self-serve unleaded gas has increased about 3 cents during the previous two weeks.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys fuel costs at 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily. It says the cheapest price was $2.96 a gallon in the Detroit area, down less than a penny from last week. The highest average was $3.06 a gallon in the Grand Rapids area.
The auto club expects the retail price for gasoline to remain relatively low this winter unless there are any unanticipated market-moving events.
