Gas prices plunge over the past week

DEARBORN, MI (AP)--   AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about 14 cents in the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.36 per gallon on Monday. That's about $1.26 less than at the same point last year.

According to AAA Michigan, gas prices have fallen three straight weeks.

The auto club surveys daily fuel prices at 2,800 gas stations across the state. The lowest average price was about $2.24 a gallon in the Marquette area, while the highest average was about $2.45 in the Jackson area.
