Driver in Marquette accident sought

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Officers were called to Lincoln Avenue Thursday around 11:20 p-m.  They say a silver Chevrolet—possibly a Monte Carlo—sped out of Lot 16 on NMU’s campus and struck a red Jeep that was northbound on Lincoln.  The suspect male driver then fled the scene.

The Chevy will have significant damage to its front end and is missing its front bumper and grill.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to call City Police at 228-0400.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
