HOUGHTON, MI-- The victim in a Dollar Bay domestic violence incident last week has died.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Senaz Nezami died Thursday at Marquette General Hospital from injuries she received in the assault December 8. Her husband, Nima Nassiri, 34, was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and lodged in the Houghton County Jail on a $5 million bond.
The Sheriff’s Office says it will be giving supplemental information to the Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office and will seek additional charges against Nassiri.
The couple had recently moved to Dollar Bay. Nazami had been enrolled at Michigan Technological University.
