Delta County man faces prelim for felonious assault

ESCANABA, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for a Ford River Township man accused of stabbing an Escanaba man. 

Thomas Hanley, 73, allegedly stabbed the 44-year-old victim Saturday night at Hanley’s residence on M-35.  The victim was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Hanley is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting and obstructing an officer.  He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

His preliminary exam is set for Thursday in Delta County District Court. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
