CHRISTMAS, MI (AP)-- An Alger County woman's shot of a sunset over Lake Superior has won the Michigan Moments Photo Contest.
Carla White's winning photograph was taken just west of Bay Furnace Park in White's hometown of Christmas.
It will be featured in the 2014 Pure Michigan Travel Guide this spring. A million copies of the guide will be printed, with 650,000 copies being distributed with the March/April issue of Midwest Living Magazine.
More than 3,000 photos were submitted to Pure Michigan through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In all, 56,000 votes were cast during the contest.
Pure Michigan is a brand representing business, talent and tourism initiatives across Michigan.
