Cambensy to run for state House seat

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette City Commissioner has thrown her hat into the race to be the 

representative for Michigan’s 109th District.

Sara Cambensy has filed paperwork for the post currently held by former Marquette mayor John Kivela, who is running for a third and final term. 

Both are running as Democrats, and will face each other in Michigan’s primary election August 2. 

Tuesday is the deadline to file paperwork to run for office.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
