Burge case moves forward

MARQUETTE, MI--   The case of a Marquette man accused of embezzling from a hockey organization has been bound over to circuit court. 

Brice Burge, 28, is charged with two counts of embezzlement from a non-profit or charitable organization. He served as general manager of the Marquette Mutineers from November of 2016 to March of this year.

Burge is accused of spending thousands of dollars of the organization’s money. The defense says Burge was never paid for his services in accordance with the team’s bylaws.

An arraignment date has not yet been set. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
