Michigan State Police from the St. Ignace Post say dental records helped determine the victim was Douglas Kievit, 57, of Hessel.

Troopers were called July 10 to East Simmons Road and found a vehicle fully engulfed. Kievit’s body was found once the fire was extinguished.

The cause of death and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
