Belt leaving Marquette Fire Department

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Fire Chief Tom Belt is retiring. 

He’s been a firefighter for 41 years, and served as chief for the past 21.  Belt will leave his post at the end of the year. 

Ian Davis, Fire Inspector for the Marquette Fire Department, has been suggested to the city manager as a replacement for Belt.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
