Adams Township ORV riders found by search party

ADAMS TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two ORV riders missing in Houghton County have been found.

State Police from the Calumet Post were notified Thursday around 11:10 p.m. that two men in their late 60s had gone riding that afternoon in Adams Township and hadn’t returned. The men both suffer medical issues. The wife of one of the men notified authorities and a search was organized.

At about 1:20 a.m. the men were located by members of the South Range Volunteer Fire Department. They had become stuck in the Beacon Hill area near the Freda Location and it took several hours to free their ORVs.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Superior Search and Rescue, and Adams Township First Responders assisted with the search.
