Man burned in Escanaba motorhome fire

ESCANABA, MI— A man suffered burns when his motorhome caught fire in Escanaba Wednesday.

The Escanaba Department of Public Safety was dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to the area behind 2112 13th Avenue South. Central Dispatch indicated a man could be inside.

Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office were the first to arrive at the scene. They helped the occupant out of the motorhome. Public Safety officers arrived moments later and extinguished the fire.

The occupant of the vehicle was treated for burns on his hands and legs.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
