MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man has been sentenced for selling drugs.  

Anre Montgomery, 38, was arrested by UPSET in April in a residence on Longyear Avenue.  A search of the house uncovered cocaine, ecstasy, illegal prescription pills, and more than $900 in cash. 

Montgomery was charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine – less than 50 grams.  He was sentenced to 18 months to 20 years in prison on one count.  

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police have released the name of one of the suspects arrested in a drug bust Wednesday.  

Officers and UPSET detectives executed a search warrant at a house on the 300 block of West Bluff Street and discovered drugs.  Two people were arrested, including Andrea Tyler, 34.  She’s charged with maintaining a drug house and possession of a controlled substance. 

Child Protective Services was called in to assist young children that were living in the house.

Details about the second suspect have not yet been released.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two suspects have been arrested in a Marquette drug bust.

City Police and detectives from UPSET executed a search warrant at a house on the 300 block of West Bluff Street Wednesday.  Drugs were found at the residence.

Two people were taken into custody.  Child Protective Services was called in to assist when young children were found in the home.

The names of the suspects have not yet been released, pending arraignment.  

MARQUETTE, MI--   An Ishpeming man has been arrested in connection with a meth lab found at a residence earlier this month. 

Joshua Vorase, 33, is charged with one count of operating/maintaining a meth lab after Ishpeming Police found several HCL generators and one-pot cooks in a garage on the 700 block of East Ridge Street May 6th. 

Vorase was arrested last Friday and remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  A preliminary exam is set for May 31st in Ishpeming District Court.  He faces up to 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

MARQUETTE, MI--   Five people have been arrested and three meth labs disrupted in Delta and Marquette counties this week. 

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team conducted an investigation into individuals who were buying pseudoephedrine to make meth.  On Wednesday detectives arrested Daniel Soulliere and Joshua Richards, both of Gwinn.  They’re charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth and remain lodged at the Marquette County Jail.

  Ishpeming, MI - Ishpeming Police are investigating a meth lab found in the city. just before 10 this morning , officers along with UPSET detectives responded to a report of a possible meth lab in a garage on the 700 block of East Ridge Street. Several one-pots, HCL generators, and other meth components were found in the garage. The items were removed from the scene by UPSDET officers. The owner of the house is not considered a suspect in the case but was able to provide information on a possible suspect. The case remains under investigation.

  Ford River Township, MI - Two meth dump sites have been discovered in Delta County. Sheriff’s deputies say the sites were found at about 6 this morning in Ford River Township and they are following up on several leads in the case. UPSET detectives assisted the sheriff’s department in the cleanup of the dump site. The investigation is ongoing.

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two men are jailed on drug charges following a traffic stop in Forsyth 

Township.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post stopped the vehicle Sunday around 2:45 a.m. on M-35 and Wagon Wheel Lane.  They seized money and several types of illegal narcotics. 

The suspects were lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  Their names have not been released, pending arraignment.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, the 8th District Hometown Security Team, and a K9 handler and his dog, Blitz.

ESCANABA, MI--   The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team has cleaned up two meth dump sites in Delta County this week.  

On Wednesday detectives were called to North 17th Street near the ski hill in Gladstone.  The dump was found by a pedestrian, who called Gladstone Public Safety.  Police secured the site until UPSET arrived.  Detectives say seven buckets of hazardous waste were removed from the scene.

MARQUETTE, MI--   The name of a Marquette man arrested on drug charges has been released.  

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement team searched a residence on the 1700 block of Longyear Avenue Thursday and found cocaine, ecstasy, illegal prescription pills, and more than $900 in cash. 

Detectives arrested Anre Rishard Montgomery, 38, and lodged him in the Marquette County Jail.  He's charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine--less than 50 grams.  Each count is a 20-year felony.

A probable cause hearing is set for May 26 in Marquette County District Court.
