IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   An Iron Mountain man allegedly involved in a stabbing in Felch Township has been arraigned. 

Aaron Ray Hodges, 44, is charged with attempted murder in the Sunday incident.  He's accused of stabbing another man at a camp during an altercation around 1 a.m.  Both men were treated for injuries at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

A preliminary hearing for Hodges is set for October 29.  He remains lodged in the Dickinson County Jail on a $750,000 bond. 

FELCH TOWNSHIP, MI--   Authorities are investigating a stabbing at a Felch Township camp over the weekend. 

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department responded Sunday around 1 a.m.  They found a male subject had stabbed another man during an argument. 

Both men were taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment.  One was subsequently arrested and lodged in the county jail. 

The incident remains under investigation.  

ESCANABA, MI--   Delta County judge Glenn Pearson has not yet made a decision whether an Escanaba man will be bound over to circuit court on a murder charge.  

Kallay Batchelor, 36, is accused of stabbing his wife Heather in the throat with a kitchen knife on September 3.

CALUMET TOWNSHIP, MI--    A suspect is in custody after a Laurium man was stabbed in Houghton County. Troopers from the Calumet Post responded to a residence on Hecla Street in Calumet Township Friday around 1:50 a.m.   

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI - A Niagra man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Iron Mountain. According to the Daily News, 35-year old Gene Rigo Hebert is accused of joining 17-year old Jacelin Sims and a 26-year old Florida woman in robbing a West Brown Street resident at knifepoint. They were arrested March 8th in Pennsylvania. Iron Mountain Police say the suspects stole medical marijuana and cash. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries while attempting to resist the suspects.

ESCANABA, MI--   A preliminary hearing is set for a Ford River Township man accused of stabbing an Escanaba man. 

Thomas Hanley, 73, allegedly stabbed the 44-year-old victim Saturday night at Hanley’s residence on M-35.  The victim was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Hanley is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting and obstructing an officer.  He remains lodged in the Delta County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

His preliminary exam is set for Thursday in Delta County District Court. 

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Escanaba man is accused of committing felonious assault in Ford River Township over the weekend.  

State Police from the Gladstone Post say the incident happened Saturday around 8:45 p.m.  Troopers responded after receiving a 911 call that a stabbing had occurred inside a residence. 

The victim—a 44-year-old Escanaba man—was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital for treatment.  The 73-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and lodged at the Delta County Jail.

Names have not yet been released, pending arraignment. 

Iron River man's murder trial given a change of venue

GRAND FORKS, ND (AP)--   A Michigan man accused of fatally stabbing his friend at an oil field crew camp in North Dakota will stand trial in Grand Forks rather than in Williston, North Dakota. 

The trial for Ryan Anderson of Iron River also has been rescheduled for late July and early August.

Anderson is charged with murder for the March 2013 stabbing death of Christopher King during an alcohol-fueled dispute at a crew camp northeast of Williston.  He's pleaded not guilty.

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Trial has been scheduled for a Dickinson County man accused of stabbing a sheriff’s deputy in the back. 

Andrew Bray, 75, is charged with assault with intent to murder and carrying a concealed weapon.  He allegedly attacked the deputy during the Continental Cup Ski Jumping Tournament at Pine Mountain in Breitung Township in February. 

This week the defense said there wasn’t enough evidence to support the prosecution’s case, but a judge disagreed.  A five-day trial is set for January 13 in Dickinson County Circuit Court. 

MASONVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Delta County man who was stabbed by his stepdaughter has been arrested after police found a pot in his home.  

State Police from the Gladstone Post were called Wednesday around 11 p.m. to a residence in Masonville Township on a report of domestic violence.  A 20-year-old woman had allegedly stabbed her 64-year-old stepfather.  Troopers determined she was possibly acting in self-defense. 

Officers found the knife used in the stabbing and a marijuana growing operation in the house.  An undisclosed amount of marijuana was seized by troopers.
