MARQUETTE, MI-- There’s some good news for Marquette drivers who use Wright Street.
The city’s Engineering Department says the Sugarloaf Avenue intersection should be open to two-way traffic beginning Friday; however, there will be a limitation for traffic heading north to Sugarloaf from traffic traveling east on Wright Street and north on Tracy Avenue, as access to Sugarloaf from those directions will be cut off for one more week.
The opening of Sugarloaf Avenue will mean a traffic shift between Lincoln Avenue and Industrial Parkway. Drivers will use one lane on the south side of Wright Street. Temporary traffic signals will be employed.
In addition, Lincoln Avenue will be closed to through traffic south of that intersection.
Work is expected to be complete by October 20.
