CHASSELL, MI-- The search for a suspect wanted on outstanding warrants led police to a meth lab in Chassell.
Wednesday detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and a parole officer from the Michigan Department of Corrections went to a residence to find a woman who was on probation. A search of the residence uncovered components used to manufacture meth and several one-pot cooks.
The suspect is lodged in the Houghton County Jail on the outstanding warrants. Additional charges for manufacturing meth are expected.
A four-year-old child who was in the house was turned over to Child Protective Services.
The Chassell Fire Department assisted at the scene.
