Woman jailed for stealing, using credit card

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Gwinn woman has been arrested for illegally using a credit card. 

Marquette Police say the card was stolen in early October and used at local businesses and online.  Investigation resulted in three felony warrants against Whitney Ann Wirkula, 20.  She’s charged with one count of larceny in a building and two counts of illegal use/sale of a financial transaction device.

Wirkula was arrested Wednesday and lodged at the Marquette County Jail.  Bond is set at 10 percent of $5,000 for each count.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
