Woman arrested in West Branch Township stabbing

WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Marquette County woman faces felony charges, following a stabbing in West Branch Township.  

Troopers from the Negaunee Post say the incident happened Saturday around 11:15 a.m.  An adult male and female in a dating relationship were apparently arguing when the woman grabbed a knife and stabbed the man. 

The victim was taken to Marquette General Hospital, treated and released.  The woman was lodged in the Marquette County Jail, pending review of charges by the Prosecutor’s Office. 

The Forsyth Township Police Department and county Sheriff’s Office assisted troopers at the scene. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
