WI nurseries want tree seeds

MADISON, WI (AP)--   State-run tree nurseries are looking to buy native Wisconsin seeds for their reforestation program.

Department of Natural Resources officials say the nurseries are in the market for balsam fir, jack pine, basswood, butternut, shagbark hickory, white oak, red oak, swamp white oak, walnut and wild plum seeds. The nurseries will buy the seeds through September.

Seeds can be dropped off at a nursery or various buying stations around the state. Lists of prices, volumes needed by seed and purchasing stations are available on the DNR's website.
