Wahl headed to prison

ESCANABA, MI--   An Escanaba man who pleaded guilty to assaulting and trying to rob a Bark River man last December has been sentenced to prison.  

Scott Wahl, 23, was one of two men arrested for the assault in which the victim was hit in the head with a glass bottle. 

Wahl pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and attempted larceny of a person.  He was sentenced in Delta County Circuit Court Tuesday to between 18 months and five years in prison, with credit for 105 days already served. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
