Volunteers needed for Walk to End Alzheimer's in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Michigan Chapter is looking for participants for next month’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Marquette.

The annual event takes place Saturday, September 23 at NMU’s Jacobetti Complex. More than 600 communities nationwide hold the walk, which is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Those who participate must register. There’s no fee to walk, and those involved are encouraged to raise funds and bring attention to the cause.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. ceremony and 10:30 a.m. start.

To donate or volunteer call 906-362-2888.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
