Volunteer nominations sought in Marquette County

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Volunteer Coordinators of Marquette County are looking for people who excel in helping their communities.  

The agency is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Marquette County Outstanding Volunteer Awards.  Categories include youth, adult, senior, pet partners, organization, and NMU student volunteer.  A volunteer will be selected from all entries, and all volunteers in Marquette County are eligible. 

Nomination packets are available at Marquette County Habitat for Humanity on Third Street or online on the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development website at www.glcyd.org. 

Nominations must be received by March 18. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
